Komako Sakai

"The Snow Day" by Komako Sakai ; It is yet another

snowy day here in New England. I had the pleasure of reading this children's

book to my LuLu last night & discovering the beautiful artwork by Komako.

She studied art in Tokyo with a background in textile design; which aptly you can

see from the wonderful textures she brings to her paintings... Her work strikes a harmony

of austerity, with a monochromatic pallet & a few hints of yellow.
